The Gulwan Valley dispute, the Chinese army retreated

The Indian and Chinese troops retreated one and a half kilometres from the Gulwan Valley in Ladakh. Indian media have claimed, citing sources, that the two countries have now withdrawn their troops from the valley in which the Chinese and Indian troops clashed and 20 Indian soldiers were killed.

According to sources, Chinese and Indian troops have retreated one and a half kilometres from their current positions in the Gulwan Valley. The area between the two armies was declared a buffer zone to prevent any further clashes. Following the decision to withdraw troops, the two countries' forces have begun removing their temporary camps and installations. A corps commanders level meeting was held on June 6 regarding the withdrawal of troops, followed by a third meeting on June 30 and the modalities for the withdrawal of troops were decided.
